Product Detail

The ATC-Alpine Guide is a super-compact and lightweight version of our highly versatile ATC-Guide. Specifically designed for quick ascents in the mountains, it weighs just 73 grams. This featherweight belay and rappel device is ideal for ropes with a diameter between 8.1 and 8.5 millimeters, but it also works great with ropes ranging from 6.9 to 9mm. The oval-shaped anchor-hole makes it a breeze to feed and pull the rope. Its guide mode allows you to belay one or two climbers from an anchor. Multiple friction modes ensure the perfect amount of stopping power when lowering or rappelling. Key features include multiple friction modes for belay and rappel, an auto-block release hole that can take small carabiners, optimization for ropes from 8.1 - 8.5mm (while still working with 6.9 - 9mm ropes), a durable cable that keeps its shape and doesn't get stuck between ropes, and a guide mode that works with one or two ropes.

Using the ATC-Alpine Guide is straightforward. First, make sure to choose the right rope diameter as it's optimized for 8.1 - 8.5mm ropes but can work with 6.9 - 9mm ones. Feed the rope through the oval-shaped anchor - hole for easy operation. When belaying, you can use the guide mode to belay one or two climbers from an anchor. For rappelling or lowering, the multiple friction modes will give you the right amount of stopping power. As for safety, always double - check that the device is properly attached and the rope is correctly threaded. When it comes to maintenance, keep the device clean and dry. Check the durable cable regularly for any signs of wear or damage. If you notice any issues, it's best to replace the device to ensure your safety during climbing activities.
