Our DD Hammocks Underblanket is a compact, lightweight, and incredibly warm addition to your hammock setup. It's a breeze to set up and can keep you cozy in temperatures as low as -5C. For those new to underblankets, they're widely considered by hammock enthusiasts as the top choice for insulating your hammock in cold conditions. This underblanket hangs beneath your hammock. When properly installed (which is easy to do), it creates a small air pocket between the underblanket and your hammock. This air pocket traps heat, keeping you warm all night. In a hammock, most heat loss occurs from below because your body weight compresses the loft in your sleeping bag and clothing. The DD Underblanket solves this problem by hanging below the hammock, so the loft remains uncompressed. It should be hung close to the hammock, gently hugging it when you're inside. Measuring 2m in length, the DD Underblanket provides almost full - length insulation for most people. We suggest setting it up with a slight bias towards the head end of the hammock, so only your feet might be outside it. As shown in the diagram, it comes with 8 elastic cords, each with a DD Mini Karabiner for easy setup. You can set it up using just the 4 end karabiners. However, all DD Frontline, Travel, Jungle, and Superlight Hammocks made since 2012 have side attachment loops, allowing you to attach the side karabiners for a snugger fit. *Note: To achieve the best hang, you may need to adjust or shorten the elastic cords slightly according to your hammock.
