Product Detail

This Camp X Alp Adze is an outstanding mountaineering tool with interchangeable grips, picks, and heads. It offers a superb balance, enabling a natural and smooth swing. The single - density handgrip provides excellent durability and is perfect for plunging. It also comes with an X - Alp padded leash for added convenience. The X - Alp shares the lightweight design of the X - All Mountain. However, its shaft has a less radical curve, making it highly versatile on lower - angled terrains. The durable single - density handgrip can withstand hitting crampons in sticky snow. The smaller pinky ledge and long steel spike simplify plunging, and the contoured adze gives a comfortable hold when using the tool as a cane. It weighs 619 g (21.80 oz) and has a length of 50 cm. The head is an Adze (paired with an X - Alp Hammer) with 2 - screw adjustment. The ice rating is Pick: B / Type 1 and Shaft: T / Type 2. It includes an X - Alp pick, and other picks like X - All Mountain and X - Light are also available. The upper pommel is absent, the lower pommel is fixed, and the grip size is one - size - fits - all. The head is made of Chromoly Steel and the shaft of 7075 - T6 Aluminum. It is certified by CE and UIAA.

Using the Camp X Alp Adze is straightforward. When climbing, you can swap out the grips, picks, and heads according to the terrain. Swing it with a natural motion thanks to its great balance. For plunging, the single - density handgrip gives you a firm hold. If you're walking on flatter ground, you can use it as a cane with the contoured adze providing a comfortable grip. Remember to check the 2 - screw adjustment on the head regularly to make sure it's secure. When not in use, store it in a dry place to prevent the Chromoly Steel head and 7075 - T6 Aluminum shaft from rusting or getting damaged. Clean the tool after each use, especially if it's been in contact with snow or dirt. Avoid using it on extremely hard surfaces that could damage the picks. And always follow the safety standards set by CE and UIAA certifications.
