Just make sure the long cable reaches the headlamp. As for maintenance, since it's IP67 waterproof and dustproof, you don't need to do much after it gets wet. But it's a good idea to dry it off if it's been underwater. Remember, the rechargeable battery pack is sold separately, so if you want to use rechargeable batteries, you'll need to buy that.
