Features include a responsive blocking function that's easy to release, ergonomic and intuitive handling that reduces the risk of user error, fast rope feeding for lead belaying, a quick and smooth transition between locked and unlocked states, and easily controlled lowering. It offers maximum safety as the design keeps your braking hand on the rope at all times. It comes with a spare part/accessory, the 1718 HMS BELAY TWIST LOCK carabiner. Specifications: Certified to EN 15151 and UIAA 129. Suitable for rope diameters from 8.6 - 11 mm. Size for belaying and passive protection is 70x20x40mm, and it weighs 170 g. Using the Salewa Ergo Belay System is easy. First, make sure the rope is properly threaded through the device as per the instructions. When belaying, keep your brake hand on the rope at all times to ensure safety. The responsive blocking function will activate if needed. To pay out the rope, simply use a smooth and steady motion. When lowering, control the speed carefully using the device's design for better control. For lead climbing, you'll notice it allows for faster rope feeding. As for top roping, it works equally well.
