Product Detail

Gear Aid's Seam Grip + WP™ Waterproof Sealant is a multi - purpose wonder for outdoor enthusiasts. It does more than just seal seams and patch holes. This powerful sealant can waterproof your tents, enhance traction, and provide excellent abrasion resistance. It works like a charm on various fabrics, including nylon, vinyl, neoprene, PVC, rubber, and leather. Always carry a tube with you because you never know when your gear might rip, leak, or break down. Save your precious gear and your exciting adventures with this award - winning waterproof seam sealer. Note: If you have silicone - treated tent and tarp fabrics like Silnylon, choose Gear Aid™ Seam Grip + SIL™ Silicone Tent Sealant. This urethane - based sealant permanently seals seams and repairs rips, tears, and holes in your outdoor equipment. Its flexible and waterproof formula can withstand extreme cold and heat and is washable. A 21 - gram tube can seal seams up to about 144 feet (with a 1/4 - inch wide bead), which is usually enough for the critical seams of a 2 - person backpacking tent. With the added Cotol - 240™ Cure Accelerator, it can seal up to about 288 feet. It takes 8 - 12 hours to cure under normal conditions, but only 2 hours when used with Cotol - 240. When applied, it cures by reacting with the humidity in the air, unlike other glues that dry. It's safe for both natural and synthetic fabrics, offers great adhesion, and is made in the USA.

Using Gear Aid Seam Grip + WP Waterproof Sealant is a breeze. First, make sure the surface of your gear is clean and dry. Squeeze the sealant onto the area you want to repair or seal, like seams, rips, or holes. You can use a brush or a spatula to spread it evenly. If you're in a hurry, add the Cotol - 240 Cure Accelerator to cut down the curing time from 8 - 12 hours to just 2 hours. Remember, it cures by reacting with the humidity in the air, so don't expect it to dry like regular glue. For silicone - treated fabrics such as Silnylon, don't use this product; instead, go for Gear Aid Seam Grip + SIL Silicone Tent Sealant. When it comes to maintenance, keep your gear away from extreme heat and cold, as the sealant can handle these conditions but it's better to be cautious. Also, if your gear gets dirty, you can wash it as the formula is washable. Store the sealant in a cool, dry place to keep it in good condition for future use.
