Product Detail

The Rock Exotica Pirate Wire Eye Automatic Locking Carabiner is a top - notch climbing accessory. Its wire keeper is a game - changer, effortlessly grabbing your bridge, lanyard, or rope and holding it exactly where you need it. The wire gate, surprisingly strong, stays shut in most situations. This already great carabiner has been improved even further. It serves as an excellent belay device or descender attachment carabiner when placed at the front of your harness. It also prevents carabiner rotation on the belay loop. The Pirate Wire Eye Auto - Lock (C1 WEA) weighs 3.20 oz (91 gm). It has impressive breaking strengths: 26 kN on the major axis, 12 kN on the minor axis, 7 kN with an open gate, and 6 kN when inward against the sleeve. The gate opening is 1.0” (25.4 mm). This carabiner is a must - have for climbers.

Using this carabiner is easy. First, open the wire gate and place your bridge, lanyard, or rope inside. Then let the gate close on its own. For belaying or descending, attach it to the front of your harness. This helps avoid carabiner rotation. When using, always check the gate is fully closed to ensure safety. Don't expose the carabiner to extreme heat or chemicals as this may weaken it. After each use, give it a quick inspection for any signs of wear or damage. If you notice anything wrong, don't use it. To keep it in good condition, store it in a dry place away from direct sunlight.
