Meet our biggest belay and rappel carabiner, the Black Diamond RockLock. It comes with a keylock nose to avoid snagging, is compatible with Munter Hitch, and can be easily operated with just one hand. Its square hinge end firmly holds the belay loop, and the slightly curved spine enlarges the gate opening. The screwgate sleeve and Type H or HMS connector make it ideal for dynamic belaying with a Munter Hitch or a belay device. Technical details include a closed gate strength of 24 kN (5395 lbf), a display weight of 85 g (3 oz), a gate opening of 24 mm (0.95 in), a minor axis strength of 8 kN (1798 lbf), and an open gate strength of 8 kN (1798 lbf).

Using this carabiner is easy. For belaying, attach it to your harness or belay device, and then secure the rope through the carabiner following the Munter Hitch method or use a belay device. When rappelling, make sure the carabiner is properly connected to your rappelling setup. Always check the screwgate is tightly closed before using it to ensure safety. When it comes to maintenance, clean it regularly with mild soap and water to remove dirt and debris. Avoid using harsh chemicals as they may damage the carabiner. Store it in a dry place to prevent rusting. If you notice any signs of wear or damage, such as cracks or bent parts, stop using it immediately and replace it with a new one.
