Product Detail
The Rock Exotica RockD Twist-Lock is an incredibly strong D-shaped carabiner. Its slightly angled gate is designed for better ergonomics, making it comfortable to use. This twist-lock (2-stage) carabiner is a fast-detachable option compared to screwlocks or 3-stage autolockers. All you need to do is twist the sleeve to open it, which is perfect when you need to quickly deploy or disconnect equipment or personnel. In fall protection scenarios where the carabiner is attached and detached repeatedly, the twistlock saves time and reduces hand fatigue by simplifying the disconnection process. It features drop-forged aluminum, a narrow asymmetric 'D' shape that maximizes MBS, and a twist-lock mechanism ideal for repeated clipping and unclipping. With a high strength-to-weight ratio in a standard size, a snag-resistant keylock nose design, and a machined frame for tight tolerances and smooth operation, the gate connects and disconnects quickly. It's certified to UIAA121. Note that the twistlock carabiner can be opened accidentally more easily than a 3-stage Autolock or Screwlock, so proper tree climbing safety training and adherence to standards are required. It's made in the USA. Specifications include a major axis of 29 kN, a minor axis of 11 kN, an open gate of 9 kN, a gate opening of 24 mm, a barrel-style twist, a length of 114 mm, a width of 68 mm, a weight of 80 g, and UIAA121 certification.
Using this carabiner is a breeze. To open it, simply give the sleeve a twist. It's great for quickly attaching and detaching equipment, especially in fall protection situations. But remember, it can be opened unintentionally more easily than some other types of carabiners. So, make sure you've had proper training in tree climbing safety before using it. When it comes to maintenance, keep it clean and dry. Check it regularly for any signs of wear and tear, like cracks or dents. If you notice any issues, stop using it right away and replace it. This will ensure it keeps working well and keeps you safe.
