Product Detail

The B-1 EXT avalanche shovel is a top - choice for weight - conscious skiers and snowboarders. It's both lightweight and extendable, offering great comfort and functionality. Crafted from 6061 T6 aluminum, these BCA Bomber shovels have an oval shaft, a more packable and extremely durable 'ferrule - less' blade, an ergonomic grip, and T6 heat treatment. There's an end cap on the shaft to stop snow from piling up inside. The Bomber series has an outstanding strength - to - weight ratio and takes up very little space in your pack. In an avalanche rescue, the excavation process can make or break the time. Specifications: Weight: 600 g, Blade Dimensions: 24.9 cm x 25.4 cm, Handle & Shaft Collapsed Length: 41 cm, Handle & Shaft Extended Length: 57 cm, Assembled Collapsed Length: 56 cm, Assembled Extended Length: 73 cm, Blade/Shaft Material: 6061 T6 Aluminum. Important: Not compatible with B - 1 probe.

Using the B-1 EXT avalanche shovel is easy. First, extend the handle and shaft to the desired length. Then, grip the ergonomic handle firmly and start shoveling snow. When you're done, collapse it to its compact size for easy storage in your pack. Remember, this shovel is not compatible with the B - 1 probe, so don't try to use them together. To maintain the shovel, keep it dry after use. Wipe off any snow or moisture to prevent rusting of the 6061 T6 aluminum material. Check the end cap regularly to make sure it's in place to stop snow from getting inside the shaft.
